Sign Content Protection
Any sign that already displays an item or text is locked. Right-clicking it will no longer overwrite or prompt to change the content.
Break to Edit
To change a sign, simply break it and place it back down. You can then set new content as normal — intentional changes are never blocked.

About Better Signs
In vanilla Stardew Valley, right-clicking any sign immediately prompts you to replace its displayed item or change its text — even if you only meant to read it. One misclick can wipe out a carefully placed label. Better Signs fixes this by locking sign content once it's set. The mod changes the right-click behaviour so existing signs are read-only until you deliberately break and re-place them. It's a small change with a big quality-of-life impact, especially for players who use signs heavily for farm organisation.
